Hello!

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.

I expect to receive my PhD from Syracuse University in August ’26. I was a Dissertation Fellow at the Syracuse Humanities Center during the 2025-26 academic year.

My research concerns species of value and evaluative domains.

My well-being research explores the concepts of prudential alienation and resonance. I am developing a radical welfare subjectivism according to which our final welfare goods are those things we agentically commit to and choose as an expression of our will. I am also exploring nonconsequentialist conceptions of prudential normativity.

My dissertation explores the nature of epistemic value and epistemic normativity and how the epistemic domain relates to other domains such as the prudential and the moral. I argue for an epistemic axiological pluralism which holds that there are two species of fundamental epistemic value: truth/accuracy, and a rich, sophisticated coherence I call vividity. I also introduce the concept of epistemic sacrifice – enduring a distinctly epistemic cost for non-epistemic, moral reasons.

I grew up outside of Rochester, NY. Before beginning my academic career, I was a public high school chemistry teacher in Detroit, MI for two years. I have also worked in Burlington, VT as a substance-abuse counselor for men supervised by the Vermont Department of Corrections.
